Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of aerodynamic characteristics of sail type wind turbine with different number of the sails when changing of flow conditions. The description of models and conditions of conductions of experimental tests are given. The aerodynamic characteristics of two models of sail type wind turbine are experimentally studied. Graphics of dependence of thrust force and drag force of two models of sail type wind turbine at various speeds and attack angles of air flow are obtained. The results of the comparative analysis of aerodynamic characteristics of models of sail type wind turbine with 6 and 8 sails are given; the assessment of their energy efficiency is conducted.
