Abstract

The article presents the results of research of the recombination luminescence of potassium sulfate, activated with nitrate and oxide of europium, by studying the crystals’ radiative properties. There was revealed that the recombination processes in crystals of potassium sulfate doped with europium, participate impurity ions in the initial divalent state. There was found that under the influence of ionizing radiation these impurity ions became the center of hole nature, where recombination processes occur during thermal activation.
